What a week. We started planning a trip to Guatemala last summer, when that door closed, we needed a plan B. Our group did some research, but when I landed on AIM’s rural Mississippi trip, I felt a pull. We decided to go for it and God has been directing us in His plan A from the get go. Keith did a great job keeping us updated with information leading up to the trip. He has been such a blessing the whole week as he has planned everything, with God first in his mind. We have met some amazing friends over the week. Our Choctaw friends joined us at VBS, had a fellowship lunch, and a competitive game of softball. Mr.Larry had service projects lined up for us and we were blessed to work with some locals who were so hospitable. We were blessed with some friends coming to making us Indian Fried bread and teach us how to make dream catchers. We were blessed to be able to pack and deliver 80 meals to bless others. We had a great experience with some local treasures teaching us how to knot. And one of the biggest blessings was Johnnie Mae. She fed us 4 of the nights and let down her guard to share a bit of her life with us. I believe each one in our group grew in their relationship with God, each other, and the awesome people of Mashulaville, MS.
