Day One at Mashulaville

Today was our first full day in Mashulaville. We got the opportunity to worship with fellow believers at the Choctaw church this morning. It was a great experience to sit in the pews and listen to them worshipping the same God as us in their native language. Afterwards we shared a snack with the children and were able to play with them for a little bit. While there we also got to listen to Kim & Louis, and Candy & Doug share their stories, some hardships of the Choctaws, and prayer requests with us. The four of them help lead various activities in the church. After splitting into four groups we got to pray for each of them. It was very encouraging to be able to lift them up in prayer. My group talked with Pastor Doug for about half an hour. He shared with us some things he was struggling with, as well as more about how he came to be their Pastor.

Later in the day we got to talk to Larry and Maxine Miller (who run all the activities at the Mashulaville Dormitory). I'm pretty sure I could sit and listen to Mr. Miller talk for hours. He has been here for about 45 years and has some amazing stories and testimonies that he is more than willing to share. The Lord has used him and his wife in great ways, and from hearing him talk, there are more ministry opportunities coming up.

Prayers for the Millers and the leaders of the Choctaw church are always welcome and appreciated. The work they are doing for the Lord is much needed in this area. It is encouraging to me to meet more brothers and sisters who are serving our Lord in different parts of the country!
