Making deep connections
Good evening,
We are worn out, but what an awesome day! Here is what one of our 8th graders (Molly Brooks) shared about today:
Today was a very fun and impactful day for many of us. First we went to church; it was really cool seeing how different people celebrated God and how they worship. After church we got to hang out with the Choctaw kids and we connected with them. We came back to the house and worked on several projects. I felt like the projects I worked on helped a lot with the house we are staying at. Then, the same kids from church that morning came to the house and we had dinner together. We played games and ate with all with the kids; I made some deep connections with some of them. They were one big community and it was cool seeing all different types of people connect on a different level. Today was a very good start to our trip and it was a day I will truly remember.
Everyone on our team shared similar stories tonight during our debrief. Tomorrow will be a work day here at the dorm and then we are off to Starkville for some fun.
